Illumination and Nintendo are working hard to spread the word on The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which means the marketing blitz is very much underway. Along with that, we have a rumored first look at a popcorn bucket for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and it’s one that plenty of fans will no doubt want to get their hands on. Usually these popcorn buckets are exclusive to certain theater chains, and we don’t have news on where you’ll be able to snag this exact design yet. Remember, theatrical release date for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has been changed from April 3, 2026, to April 1, 2026, in the United States and many other countries and regions. It will be released in theaters in Japan on April 24, 2026, and is scheduled to be released in theaters in other countries and regions in April 2026 as well.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is the sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie (released in 2023), which grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide. As with the previous film, Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Nintendo Representative Director and Fellow Shigeru Miyamoto will serve as co-producers. Universal Pictures and Nintendo are financing the production, with Universal Pictures handling worldwide distribution. As with the previous film, Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic will direct, Matthew Fogel will write the screenplay, and Brian Tyler will continue to provide the music.
