It’s light out, and away it goes, because Brad Pitt’s F1 has officially lost the top spot on Apple TV. This time, the honor went to Elizabeth Olsen’s new release, the fittingly-titled Eternity.

While it’s unlikely for Olsen’s new rom-com to top the charts on Apple TV for eternity, it did achieve a major feat by defeating Brad Pitt’s film. Per FlixPatrol, F1 had been holding the pole position for over two months since its Dec. 12 release on Apple TV. Now, that is gone, as Eternity just scored a swift overtake on F1.

The fantasy romantic comedy premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival before heading to theaters in the U.S. on Nov. 26. It was released by A24. It officially scored its Apple TV debut on Feb. 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Eternity attracted attention from its first day on the platform, where it debuted in second place in the U.S. In just one day, it was already topping the charts not just in America, but worldwide, scoring a whopping 86 No. 1s, thus ending F1’s domination 63 days later.

Eternity is the perfect replacement for The Good Place fans. While the Mike Schur sitcom followed a group of unlikely friends in what they believed is a version of heaven, Elizabeth gives it an even more romantic spin.

The original film follows Olsen’s Joan, who wakes up in the afterlife. However, she is not assigned a soulmate, the way it happens in The Good Place. Instead, she has to choose between the two big loves of her life: her first husband, who died in the Korean War, and the man she ended up spending the rest of her life with.

Aside from Olsen, Eternity also stars Miles Teller as her second husband, Larry, and Callum Turner as Luke. The cast also includes John Early, Olga Merediz, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. David Freyne directed from a script he co-wrote with Pat Cunnane.

The original fantasy rom-com had a positive reception, holding a Certified Fresh 77% approval score from the critics, and an even higher 90% from the audience, with a Verified Hot badge. It received praise for the clever, original concept, the performances, and the compelling love triangle.

Considering the positive reception, Eternity also became a commercial success. It also grossed $34.9 million worldwide, which might not sound like a blockbuster, but it was enough for a profit considering its $12 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo.

Brad Pitt Might Return to Pole Position

F1 was a resounding success for Apple TV, as it was an original film for the studio. Grossing $633.1 million, it became Apple’s highest-grossing film and scored four Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. Naturally, a talk about a sequel has been happening for a long time.

Recently, producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that an F1 sequel is in the works. Although he didn’t confirm whether Pitt would reprise his role, the producer revealed he would be “of course” involved in the casting decision. The film doesn’t have a release date yet.

A sequel would give Brad Pitt another opportunity to dominate the Apple TV charts again, now that Olsen’s new film has taken over the first spot.

Eternity and F1 are both streaming on Apple TV.
