BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. — Gardner-Webb continued to compete deep into several matches but ultimately fell 6–1 to Davidson on Saturday afternoon at the Webb Tennis Complex.

The Runnin’ Bulldogs picked up their lone point of the day in singles play, as Valeria Lloclla earned a hard-fought three-set victory at No. 4. Lloclla rallied after dropping the second set to defeat Charlotte Calderwood 6–3, 2–6, 10–8 in the match tiebreaker.

Gardner-Webb also picked up a doubles win to start the afternoon, with Alizée Poulin and Greta Murzsa dominating at No. 3 doubles, 6–0. However, Davidson secured wins at the top two doubles positions to claim the doubles point.

Several singles matches were tightly contested and pushed to deciding sets. At No. 1 singles, Emma Shasteen battled through three sets before falling in a match tiebreak to Savanna Kollock, while Greta Murzsa also pushed her match to three sets at No. 6.

Despite the final score, the Bulldogs showed resilience across the lineup, forcing extended matches and remaining competitive throughout the afternoon.

Gardner-Webb will return to the courts on Thursday, February 19, traveling to nearby Spartanburg, S.C. to take on Wofford. First serve is slated for 2 p.m.
