EXCLUSIVE: Greg Bekkers’ Los Angeles-based sales and production company Mavyrk has closed a couple of deals on its EFM slate of Catalyst Studios features and is continuing sales at the EFM.
Tamika Miller’s boxing drama Undercard, which stars Wanda Sykes and Bentley Green and follows a trainer who reconnects with the son she abandoned, has gone to Film Master Distribution for Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait.
Milena Grujic’s action title Verified Target, about a hit woman who undergoes a crisis of conscience and goes on the run from her former employers, has landed with Noori Pictures in South Korea. Dominika Walo, Martin Wutke, and Sebastian Hulk star
As previously announced there has been a US deal on Joanne Mitchell’s psychological horror drama Broken Bird, which Seismic Releasing will open theatrically on April 24. Rebecca Calder from The Conjuring: Last Rites and James Fleet star.
Mavyrk’s recent sales titles have included family intervention drama Little Brother with J.K. Simmons, comedy All Happy Families starring Josh Radnor, and the upcoming addition drama Wildcard with Andrea Londo, and David Arquette.
