A 93-year-old man was killed after a crash on Highway 13 in Hardisty, Alta., about 200 kilometres southeast of Edmonton last week.

According to RCMP, the Hardisty resident was pronounced dead in the hospital after a collision between the pickup truck he was driving and a semi truck.

The incident is said to have occurred on Highway 13 at 49 Street in Hardisty on Feb. 9, around 4 p.m.

“Initial investigation suggests a pickup truck was turning eastbound onto Highway 13 when it was struck by a semi grain hauler traveling westbound,” the Killam/Forestburg RCMP says.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
