Sundeep Sekhon has finally been arrested and charged with a fatal hit-and-run, over a year after he allegedly murdered a pedestrian with his vehicle.
According to police, the woman was crossing the intersection on a green light when the collision occurred.
“On Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, a pedestrian was struck by a black SUV while crossing at the crosswalk on Bristol Road West at Loonlake Avenue in Mississauga. The driver fled the scene without providing assistance,” Peel Police wrote in a release on Friday. “The victim, a woman in her twenties, was transported to a trauma centre, where she later succumbed to her injuries.”
Sekhon, 26, fled the scene. The woman, in her 20s, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Sekhon was apprehended on Wednesday after an extensive investigation. He was charged with failure to stop after an accident resulting in death and dangerous operation causing death.
Sekhon was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
