They say ’30 is the new 20′, or at least they used to. Truth be told, we don’t hear people state that as much. Maybe someone wised up. For most of us, 30 isn’t the new 20. It’s the same old 30, and Baltimore Ravens edge rusher Kyle Van Noy stands at the crossroads of what has been a solid NFL run.

You see, guys nearing the 30-year-old threshold can sometimes be frowned upon. We’re all guilty of that. We call guys old. We wager over how much time they have left, so by NFL standards, Van Noy has already enjoyed a career most could only dream of.

Before he arrived in Baltimore at the ripe old age of 32, he was already a member of the New England Patriots All-2010s Team. He was also a two-time Super Bowl champion (LI, LIII). As a Raven, he earned his first Pro Bowl nod in 2024. He turns 35 years old on March 26, but his contract expires before then, at the dawn of the new league year on March 11.

Will the Ravens re-sign him or let him walk? Here are a few potential free-agent targets if they go with the latter option.

We like K’Lavon Chaisson’s potential in a rotational role, but only in a rotational role. If the Ravens hope for bang-for-buck signings, this could be one of them.

He didn’t earn a ring this past February, but he now has championship experience. Grabbing a former Patriot worked when the Ravens added Van Noy. Might they find similar (or more) success by adding another?

Here’s another reclamation project of sorts. Kwity Paye and Chaisson are alike in that many expected more from him than what we’ve seen. He has logged decent numbers, but there is still this vibe that something is missing, even though some can’t state what that ‘something’ is.

He has started 74 of his 75 in-game appearances. Experience is no problem, as he has played a lot of snaps. He recorded eight or more sacks in 2023 and 2024, but this past season, he managed only four. That’s enough to get anyone’s attention.

As you’ve probably learned from this story and the good ol’ eyeball test, the Ravens have no issue with adding veteran players. We’ve heard Khalil Mack may be considering retirement, but there are also rumors of a possible Bears reunion.

He isn’t what he once was, but even with his drop-off, he’s still ten times better than many of the guys who play his position. It won’t take much to talk many of us into theories about why his addition could be solid if he’s used in a rotational role.

Odafe Oweh, Los Angeles Chargers

Speaking of reunions. Jesse Minter’s regime didn’t trade Odafe Oweh. Might he make sense in Baltimore’s jersey again? After a decent stay on the left coast, he could pay dividends for a Ravens pass rush that can now potentially be better than the one he left last season.
