Two people have been charged with arson and other offences following a “suspicious” house fire north of Brampton, police say.
The blaze broke out around 2 p.m. on Feb. 6 at a home in the area of Mount Wolfe Road and Old Church Road in Caledon, the OPP says.
No injuries were reported in the fire, and police say Caledon Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the blaze.
But police said the fire was “suspicious,” leading to a search of a property in Caledon on Friday.
Police say two suspects have been arrested and charged with multiple offences, including arson and fraud over $5,000.
The OPP says Mandeep Sutharson, 42, and Sutharson Krishnamoorthy, 47, both of Caledon, have been charged with arson, public mischief, fraud over $5000 and obstruct peace officer.
The accused are scheduled to appear make a court appearance in Orangeville on May 7, 2026 to answer to their charges.
