RCMP issued a tow ban Tuesday afternoon for the QE II from Edmonton to just north of Red Deer.

Blowing and drifting snow is causing reduced visibility and dangerous driving conditions that make tow operations too dangerous. Police are responding to several minor collisions in the area.

Meanwhile, in areas to the South of Red Deer, Didsbury RCMP is advising motorists that driving conditions on the QE11 are very poor. Numerous collisions have been reported in the area.

Please avoid travel until conditions improve.
