After his instalment over the weekend, in an invited comment to this publication, new president of the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF), Nigel London says the recently elected body will forge ahead together for the greater good of the sport and not for personal interests.
“This leadership will include transparency, accountability and unity within the federation. By simply holding each other accountable first, and also reminding ourselves that we are here to serve in the interest of cycling and cyclists, not any personal agendas, not anyone who has a far-reaching goal that uses cycling to get there,” London said.
London explained that the federation aims to create an environment where decisions and operations are clear at all levels including the grassroots, with the goal of reigniting interest in cycling across Guyana.
