A popular Netflix dating series is casting on Vancouver Island, offering local women the chance to take part in a show that celebrates love, connection and neurodiversity.
A social media post shared by Special Olympics BC–Nanaimo this week highlights an open casting call for Love on the Spectrum, a documentary series that follows young adults on the autism spectrum as they explore the world of dating and relationships.
Producers from Australia’s Northern Pictures are currently seeking single women aged 18 to 30 who live near Vancouver Island and are interested in going on a date with a young autistic man.
Applicants may be autistic themselves or have a different intellectual or developmental disability, and must be open to dating someone on the spectrum. According to the casting notice, participants are carefully matched to ensure compatibility and shared interests.
Love on the Spectrum is a docu-reality series that follows people on the autism spectrum as they navigate the world of dating and relationships, often for the first time, with support from family members and relationship experts who provide practical guidance and social skills coaching.
In addition to first dates, the show also features couples who have successfully found lasting relationships, offering viewers a look at love in all its forms.
