Riders on Brampton Transit can expect delays as hazardous winter weather continues to hammer the Greater Toronto Area on Wednesday.

Environment Canada has issued a yellow winter storm warning for Brampton and much of the GTA, saying there are icy and slippery conditions on the roads due to a mix of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain.

The OPP says there were at least 80 crashes in the GTA since 5 a.m., and Brampton Transit says routes across the city are experiencing delays expected to last through tot he evening.

“We continue to experience some delays due to the snow-covered and slick road conditions,” Brampton Transit said in an update on social media Wednesday. “Travel with care, bundle up, and plan accordingly.”

Brampton Transit says to allow extra time across the city’s transportation network and to watch for slippery sidewalks and platforms.
