Transport Quebec says a pair of partial road closures will impact Montreal drivers over the coming weekend.
Motorists are being advised that work will take place along Highway 40 at the Charles-De Gaulle Bridge as well as the Highway 520 overpass over Cavendish Boulevard between Friday evening and Monday morning.
Charles-De Gaulle Bridge
Charles-De Gaulle Bridge (A-40): obstructions from February 20 to 23 (CNW Group/Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility)
Highway 40 will see a lane closed in each direction between Gouin Boulevard East in Montreal and Route 344 (Saint-Charles Road) starting at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, until Monday, Feb. 23.
On top of the lane closure, some lanes could be reduced to 3.3 metres within the construction zone, and the speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h in both directions.
Highway 520 overpass
Highway 520 – Upcoming eastbound night closures – Weekend of February 20, 2026 (CNW Group/Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility)
Highway 520 will be fully closed between Exit 5 — Hickmore Street — and the Côte-de-Liesse interchange from 10 p.m. on Friday until 8 a.m. on Saturday, before closing again at 10 p.m. on Sunday until 5 a.m. on Monday.
Transport Quebec notes a detour will be in place along the service road, however, the service road may occasionally be closed at night.
As for the night of Feb. 23 to 24, ramps at the Côte-de-Liesse interchange (Highways 40 and 520) will be closed starting at 9 p.m. and lasting until 5 a.m.
For both, work may be postponed due to adverse weather conditions, and Transport Quebec recommends that drivers check Quebec 511 before hitting the streets.
