There are a number of critical roles left vacant in the E-Mental Health Hub in Castlerea at present. That ‘s been confirmed to local Sinn Fein deputy Claire Kerrane.

This facility was opened to great fanfare in 2020 with the closure of the formerly well loved Rosalie Home for older people with dementia.

Deputy Kerrane says to see three posts stopped for a service for Older People in our community – The Psychiatry of Later Life (Poll) service is very disheartening.

There are also positions vacant in the Children & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Connect Service.

The Roscommon  Galway based deputy sought clarification on the number of vacant posts from the HSE, and says she will continue to raise her staffing concerns.

“People”, she says, “deserve better and the government cannot continue to talk up care in the community, when this is the reality they stand over.”
