Reports of the shooting first came around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 30 after police received a 911 call that shots were being fired in the area of Dartford Road and Balmoral Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found that a 26-year-old man had been shot. He later died.

The next day police arrested a man in his 30s. Christopher Beharry has since been charged with second-degree murder.

Police say the two men were related, but the type of relationship is not known at this time.

“We believe this is an incident of family violence,” police told reporters at the scene, adding that it was an isolated incident and that there was no other ongoing public safety concern.
