Toronto police are searching for a suspect wanted in an aggravated assault investigation in East York.

The alleged assault occurred outside an establishment in the area of Danforth and Glebemount avenues on Feb. 17 at around 11:30 p.m.

Police say a victim was approached by the suspect inside a business in the area and a verbal argument ensued.

The victim, police say, went outside and was followed by the suspect, who assaulted the victim.

According to investigators, the victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

The suspect, police allege, fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers.

He has been described by police as between 35 and 40 years old, six feet tall, 160 lbs., and has short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt, a black jacket with fur on the hood, dark blue jeans, dark-coloured boots, and a green Under Armour toque, police said.

Investigators also note that he may go by the name Russell.
