LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men’s tennis posted a 6-1 victory against Idaho State at home at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club on Friday. USU improves to 5-4 on its spring season with the win, including 2-0 at home.

Doubles
Utah State won the doubles point as freshman Jakub Medved and sophomore Xavier Calvelo teamed up for a 6-0 swipe in the first position, while sophomore Eliot Nobel and sophomore Roman Venger paired up to clutch a 6-3 win in the third position. Senior Jean-Baptiste Badon and Dmitri Goubin held a 4-3 lead in their match in the second position when it was left unfinished.
Singles
Nobel continued the momentum into singles play, posting a straight-sets win at the No. 4 position, 6-1, 6-1. Calvelo followed close behind, also posting a win in straight sets at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Venger clinched the match for USU with another straight sets win at the third position, 6-2, 7-6 (5). Idaho state then won their first point at the No. 1 position in three sets before USU closed out the match with wins at the final two courts. Medved scored another straight-sets win at the fifth position, 6-2, 6-2, while sophomore Eemil Pasanen concluded the match for the Aggies winning the final two sets in the No. 6 position to take a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) victory.
