Canada out in 1st final of mixed team aerials

Canada won’t be chasing another medal in mixed team aerials this year after finishing fifth in Final 1 — just missing the cut by one spot to move on to the second final.

Marion Thénault (65.25), Miha Fontaine (107.73) and Lewis Irving (95.47) combined for a score of 268.45 and just missed the cut by one spot. The trio had earned bronze at Beijing in 2022.

Irving appeared surprised at his score after landing a back double full-full-full seemingly well.

Kaila Kuhn (106.89), Connor Curran (120.36) and Christopher Lillis (123.98) of the United States had the top combined score of 351.23.

China (315.02) was second, followed by Australia (289.04) in third and Switzerland (278.48) in fourth.

Only the top four teams advanced to Final 2.

Final 2 got underway at 5:45 a.m. ET.
