Makerspace YK is launching an artist-in-residence program to support female, non-binary, gender-queer and transgender artists in Yellowknife.
The non-profit society is seeking artists of all disciplines based in the Yellowknife area to apply for the first cohort of the program, set to take place from March to July 2026.
Three selected artists will each receive a one-month residency with dedicated time and space to create, share knowledge and grow their practice.
Artists will have access to Makerspace YK’s tools, equipment and expertise and receive a subsidized one-month membership. They will be required to deliver two fully-funded workshops during their residency.
Artists have until February 25 at 11:59pm to apply.
Applications for the second cohort of the program will open in the summer.
The multi-year artist-in-residence program is set to support nine artists through spring 2027.
