It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gerry on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Gerry was a proud and loving father to Amanda Rudy, and a grandfather to Dylan and Melody. He was a devoted friend to Janet and a beloved brother to Allan, Tim, Anne-Lorraine, and Robin. Gerry was the treasured son of the late Arthur Armstrong and the late Beatrice Webb. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Music was Gerry’s true passion. He had a natural gift for songwriting and was deeply talented, playing the drums and guitar, and captivating audiences with his voice. He spent many years traveling and performing as a Neil Diamond impersonator, sharing his love of music and entertaining those around him. He truly came alive on stage.

Gerry also enjoyed traveling and spending time at the cottage with his dear friend Janet. He was a hardworking man who dedicated many years of his life to Mr. Christie’s. Known for his outgoing personality and love of laughter, Gerry always sought to enjoy life and bring joy and entertainment to others.

Though his time here was cut far too short, those who knew him will forever remember his spirit, his music, and his unforgettable presence. Even though he is no longer here with us I know he would say “The show must go on.”

His family encourages everyone to hold their loved ones close. If you’re thinking about making that call — don’t think, just do it. Tell them you love them.

Rest easy, Dad. We know you’re up there doing what you loved most — putting on a great performance.

A celebration of life will be held at the Moose Lodge Apartments (543 Trunk Road, Sault Ste. Marie) at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.northwoodfuneral.com
