With the 2025 college football season just under two months away, BetOnline released its favorites to win the College Football Playoff this upcoming season.
Based on the odds, the Big 12 does not have a high chance of seeing a program compete for the title.
Texas Tech, Utah, and Kansas State have the highest odds in the conference at just 100/1. Despite winning the conference and earning the No. 4 overall seed last season, Arizona State was left out of the top three at 125/1 odds.

The Sun Devils also return a lot of their offensive talent, including quarterback Sam Leavitt and wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. Star running back Cam Skattebo was drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.
These Big 12 programs have lower odds than Auburn and USC. The Tigers had a 5-7 finish in 2024, while the Trojans barely finished above .500 at 7-6.
Texas Tech went 8-5, whereas Kansas State had a 9-4 record. KSU returns quarterback Avery Johnson, who recorded 2,712 passing yards and 25 touchdowns last season.
That was still not enough for either team to be placed above Auburn, which is a program that has not finished with more than six wins since 2019.
Texas has the highest odds at 6/1, as Ohio State and Georgia trail behind, tied at 13/2 odds. The top five is rounded out with Penn State (7/1), Clemson (17/2), and Alabama (9/1).
College football fans will get a glimpse at two of the top teams when Texas travels to Columbus to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes on Aug. 30.
The Big 12 has seen success in recent years following TCU’s run to the National Championship game in the 2022 season.
