According to figures first reported by Money in Sport, the Saudi Public Investment Fund has approved a further $266.6 million capital injection into LIV Golf, taking its total investment in the league to approximately $5.3 billion.

The additional funding was approved by PIF governor Yasir Al Rumayyan on February 1, 2026. Since 2024, LIV Golf’s net spending has averaged around $100 million per month, financed through regular capital injections rather than a single annual commitment. Should that run rate continue throughout 2026, total funding for the year would reach roughly $1.2 billion, pushing total investment beyond $6 billion by year end.

The 2026 season also brings a significant increase in prize money, adding an estimated $65 million to the tour’s annual cost base. Total purses across the 13 regular-season events have risen from $25 million to $32.3 million per tournament. The $20 million individual purse remains unchanged.

The team prize fund has doubled to $10 million per event and will now be distributed across all 13 teams. In addition, a new $2.3 million “individual via team” pool allows captains of the top three teams to allocate performance bonuses to selected teammates.

Some of the increase is expected to be offset by the departures of Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed, along with reduced staging costs. Performance 54 Group, which manages LIV events, stated in its latest accounts: “There has been a small increase in the number of events under management but aggregate budgets have reduced so turnover has declined slightly.”

The company also confirmed that “due to the successful delivery of LIV golf events staged by the Group, they have been renewed in all markets for multiple future years.”
