Peel police have charged three men in relation to a fatal shooting in a mall parking lot in Brampton earlier this month.
Two 20-year-olds from Brampton and one 25-year-old from Toronto are now facing first-degree murder charges following the incident, Peel Regional Police said in a news release on Wednesday.
On Dec. 8, 25-year-old Jaskarn Dhaliwal of Brampton was shot and killed in a car near Shoppers World on Main Street, police said. Several shots were fired, according to police, and suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.
The three accused were arrested following an investigation into the shooting and police are not looking for any more suspects, according to PRP.
“Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety,” the release stated.
The accused will each go before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for bail hearings, police said.
A police spokesperson initially told CBC Toronto Wednesday that they had “no plans” to release the identity of the victim, however upon further request, they identified him as Dhaliwal.
