Fans of the Saskatchewan Roughriders are about to get a new way to experience game day at Mosaic Stadium.

The Roughriders Football Club (RFC) has been working with the Government of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) to introduce a designated tailgating area on REAL District grounds, near Mosaic Stadium.

Through an exclusive lottery, 2026 season ticket members will have a chance to enter. Members use the link provided in an email sent on Monday morning or log in through the account manager on the Rider App.

This comes after Craig Reynolds, president and CEO of the RFC, sent a message to season ticket holders about the proposed tailgate experience last year.

Legislation was introduced to permit tailgating at Roughriders Games in October of last year.

Amendments were made to the Alcohol Control Regulations, enabling the creation of new regulations to allow tailgating.

The regulations include extensive requirements to ensure that tailgating is done safely and responsibly, including the requirement for a permit and close collaboration with SLGA on event planning and oversight.

The club wrote in a prepared statement released on Monday, “This new initiative will allow fans to enjoy a safe and responsible tailgating experience on game days.”

Passes are only available to Season Ticket Members and they are $500 for the full season, or $50 per game. Any potential home playoff game will be included at no additional cost.

It will allow pass holders to make their own food and enjoy drinks responsibly within Mosaic stadium, as well as receiving two adjacent parking spots — one for vehicle parking and one for tailgate setup.

For the 2026 season, single-game tailgate passes will not be available. Future seasons will offer expanded capacity and additional public access opportunities.

The full set of regulations is still being finalized with the province.

The deadline to enter the lottery is March 5 at 11:59 p.m. There is no cost to enter, which will be a random draw.

The club wrote in a prepared statement released on Monday, “This new initiative will allow fans to enjoy a safe and responsible tailgating experience on game days.”

A Rider account representative will contact selected individuals in April to confirm their offer of a tailgate pass. Payment is needed after a member has been formally selected and offered the pass.
