London-based tech startup Nothing has released the first official look at its upcoming Phone (4a), revealing a refined industrial aesthetic and a brand-new notification interface dubbed the “Glyph Bar.” The reveal, shared via official renders on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, comes as the company prepares for its global “Built Different” launch event on March 5. The new design serves as an evolution of the transparent DNA established by the Phone (3a), trading sprawling LED strips for a more concentrated, functional lighting array.
The ‘Glyph Bar’: A New Visual Language
The centrepiece of the Phone (4a) is the redesigned Glyph Bar located at the top-right of the rear panel. Departing from the curved strips of previous models, the new interface consists of six square LED segments housing nine individually controllable mini-LEDs.
According to official teasers, this new system is 40% brighter than the lighting found on the previous (a) series. The bar includes a signature red accent light, a hallmark of Nothing’s design, likely functioning as a dedicated recording or high-priority alert indicator.
Hardware and Design Refinements
The renders showcase a white colourway featuring a frosted metallic finish on the internal components. Notable design changes include:
Camera Module: A horizontal, pill-shaped housing containing a triple-camera setup, with the LED flash moved outside the main island to sit flush with the rear panel.
Button Layout: The “Essential Key” has been relocated to the left side of the frame, while the power and volume rockers remain on the right.
Transparent Elements: The back panel remains semi-transparent, exposing approximately 12 visible T-head screws and a large white cutout for the battery cell.
Projected Specifications
While Nothing has only confirmed the use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, industry leaks suggest a formidable mid-range package:
Processor: Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 (with the 4a Pro potentially using a more powerful 7 Gen 4).
Display: 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate (144Hz for the Pro).
Battery & Power: A 5,400mAh battery supporting 50W wired fast charging.
Memory: Up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Launch and Availability
The Nothing Phone (4a) series is scheduled to debut globally on March 5, 2026, at 4:00 PM IST. In India, the devices will be sold exclusively via Flipkart, where a dedicated microsite has already gone live. Pricing is rumoured to start around ₹33,999, marking a slight increase over previous generations due to rising component costs.
