After 16 years of operating in Richmond, Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle has announced that it has closed its Aberdeen location on Feb. 23, 2026.

“We are deeply grateful for your loyalty, support, and memories shared with us over the years. It has truly been an honour to be part of your dining experiences,” wrote the restaurant on Instagram.

Chef Hung is brought to us by the man of the same name, an award-winning and three-time champion of the Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival Competition between 2007 and 2010. The restaurant is best known for its beef noodle soup, but it also offers a variety of other dishes like deep-fried pork chop on rice, dumplings, hot and sour soup, and more.

In October 2023, Chef Hung also quietly closed its Bistro 990 concept.

Fans of the noodle restaurant can still visit it at its UBC (3313 Shrum Ln.) and SFU (9055 University High St. #109) locations.

“Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to serving you again,” concluded the restaurant.
