The Ottawa Police Service says a 49-year-old woman from Brampton is facing charges in connection with a theft at the Bayshore Shopping Centre last week.
Police were called to the west-end mall at around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 on a report of a theft in progress at a clothing store.
The suspect’s vehicle was later located about 10 kilometres away on Carling Avenue.
“Search warrants were subsequently executed on the vehicle and at the location where the suspect was staying. As a result, a large quantity of stolen merchandise was recovered,” police said in a news release on Wednesday.
The woman is charged with two counts of theft under $5,000. Police said the charges are related to this incident and other high-value thefts reported in August 2025.
