Giants general manager Joe Schoen again declined to address his contract situation. He is entering the final year of his initial contract.

“I’m still the general manager of the team and my role has not changed. I’m still tasked with leading the entire football operation.”

Schoen said there’s constant communication with Harbaugh and Dawn Aponte, the new senior VP of football operations and strategy. Schoen said video and analytics will report to Aponte, who will report to Harbaugh in the organization’s new structure. He called Aponte a “tremendous resource.” Schoen said they’re going to hire a new video director soon.

As for the roster, Schoen said the meetings with the agents of their free agents will take place this week. He said he’d like to keep some of them, and if they leave that opens up other holes. He also continues to “feel good” about the rehab progress of Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers. Schoen remains hopeful that they’ll be ready for training camp. Skattebo told me before the Super Bowl that he could be cleared by the start of the offseason program, so Nabers’ status is the bigger question mark.
