A man was arrested in Maple Ridge and charged with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse and exploitation material by mail after a multi-jurisdictional investigation by the BC RCMP Integrated Child Exploitation, (ICE), Unit.
On Wednesday, Feb. 18, the RCMP child exploitation unit — with the assistance of Ridge Meadows RCMP, the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team, Integrated Sexual Predator Observation Team, and the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit — arrested Jason Victor Horn, previously known as Jason Hornischfeger, and executed a search warrant at a residence in Surrey.
Horn’s arrest came after the BC ICE investigation team received information from Mission RCMP in March of last year, regarding a suspect who had allegedly sent such material by mail, a BC RCMP release said.
Through the course of their investigation, they identified a male suspect who resided in the Surrey area.
Horn, 52, has been charged with one count of distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and one count of possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
Following his arrest, Horn was remanded into custody, the release noted.
The investigation remains ongoing.
“No further information will be released as the matter is now before the court,” said Const. Solana Pare with the BC RCMP ICE unit.
Anyone with information about Jason Horn, formerly Hornischfeger, relating to this investigation, is asked to contact their local police.
