Premier David Eby will face questions from Surrey business operators during an “an exclusive post-budget economic update” on Friday, March 6.
Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade typically gives the location for such events in advance, but not this one. The site of Eby’s speech will be shared with registered attendees prior to the event, according to the luncheon host. Tickets start at $85 on swrbot.com.
Business leaders give the recent B.C. budget an unprecedented ‘D’ grade for the expansion of the provincial sales tax (PST) and other concerns.
In Surrey, Eby is expected to “provide insights into the Province’s fiscal priorities, economic outlook, and how recent budget decisions will impact businesses, workers, and communities particularly in fast-growing regions like Surrey and White Rock,” the board of trade says.
Twelve days later, a “State of B.C. Transportation” lunchtime event will feature a speech by Mike Farnworth, Minister of Transportation and Transit, hosted by SWRBOT at Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel on March 18. Results of the 2026 Surrey Roads Survey will be revealed, “offering a detailed look at the transportation trends, challenges and opportunities that matter most to our community.”
