VIDEO REPORT: Jesuit, Brother Martin to battle for soccer state championship

On one side it’s Jesuit, *** program that is synonymous with soccer in this state that’s won 13 championships. On the other side, it’s an ascending Brother Martin program that’s looking to take its place atop the mountain for the first time in *** quarter of *** century. Drive, drive, drive. It means *** lot. That was kind of my. My focus coming in, uh, building *** program, not for right now, but for to, to be back in, in, in the conversation with top programs in the state and to be in that conversation, the Crusaders had to beat their rivals, which just so happens to be the top program in the state. We know *** couple of guys on that team, know the coach on that team, so, uh, they get into it, we get into it. It’s *** bit chippy, but, uh, we enjoy it. Just adds *** little extra oomph to the game. I mean, uh, you don’t really have to motivate the kids so much, uh. It’s kind of in our DNA just to want to beat them. Hey, we’ve got to play that ball deeper to the wide player, but it would be the Blue Jays who had the advantage in the regular season, winning 4 to 2. And we don’t even look at that last game that we played *** few weeks ago. That’s not on our mind anymore. We’re playing for *** state title now, and I think what we have to do is try and create as many quality goal scoring chances as we can. And Jesuit has had success with that thus far, scoring 25 goals through 4 playoff games. If I think they’re not going to. Get in and around the goal, I’d be uh kidding myself. I mean, they’re very dangerous going forward, so I, you know, my soccer brain is saying that we need to be solid. Defensively, Matt Millette said Saturday will be *** busy day in his household because his daughter Maddie plays for Dominican. That game between Dominican and Mount Carmel will get started at 5 p.m., followed by Jesuit and Brother Martin, which begin at 7:30 in Strawberry Stadium.
