Alberta’s police watchdog is investigating after a man died while being arrested by Edmonton police on Saturday.
At roughly 8 a.m. on Feb. 21, officers responded to a report of an assault at a multi-unit shared living facility in the area of 129 Avenue and 119 Street, said police in a Monday news release.
When officers arrived, they found a man, who witnesses said appeared to be incoherent and intoxicated. Police tried to arrest the man, but he resisted, and during the arrest the man went into medical distress.
