Though they’re being displaced from their home stadium for the start of the 2026 Canadian Football League season, the BC Lions are making the best of it and bringing the party to Kelowna.
The Lions unveiled the logo for Touchdown Kelowna on their social media channels on Monday, February 23. Touchdown Kelowna is a two-game series in the Okanagan city in late June and early July while the 2026 FIFA World Cup takes over BC Place in Vancouver.
The Touchdown Kelowna logo features the sun rising over a mountain forest at the top. An orange banner reads “TOUCHDOWN” with “KELOWNA” underneath in white and silver lettering. The logo tapers to a rounded point at the bottom, where the blue waves of Lake Okanagan appear. Above that is the logo of presenting sponsor Okanagan College.

In Kelowna, the Lions will play the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday, June 27, and the Edmonton Elks on Saturday, July 4. Before that, they’ll open their season with two road games: one against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday, June 13, and another against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday, June 19.
The Kelowna games will be held at the Apple Bowl stadium, located near downtown. The stadium is being expanded with temporary seating for 17,000 fans. Tickets for the two games go on sale to the public on Thursday, February 26.
While the World Cup is being held in Vancouver for the first time, the Lions are no stranger to taking their show on the road. They hosted Touchdown Pacific, a regular season game against the Ottawa RedBlacks, at Starlight Stadium (home of Pacific FC of the Canadian Premier League) in Langford, B.C, just outside Victoria, in August 2024. They also hosted a preseason game in Langford in 2025, and will do so again on Saturday, May 23.
