There have been changes to Highway 407 ETR in 2026 and another notable one is still set to come.

At the beginning of January, some toll rates and fees increased, while eligible low-income drivers were given more free trips per month.

When announcing changes to toll rates and fees last Fall, Highway 407 ETR also said that drivers will see the launch of a new points program this year.

“Building on its commitment to deliver value for customers, 407 ETR will also launch a new loyalty program in 2026,” a November press release said.

“Drivers will be able to earn and redeem points on their trips — right from the 407 ETR mobile app.”

At the time, a spokesperson told INsauga.com that customers will be able to redeem points for free travel on the highway. It will all be done through the 407 ETR app, they said.

“Stay tuned for more details about this program in the new year,” the spokesperson added.

“In the meantime, create a My Account and download the app to be the first to know.”

We are now well into the year and there hasn’t yet been a formal update on the program, so INsauga.com contacted the highway again this week to see where everything stands.

While details still remain relatively scarce, it appears we are inching closer to learning more.

“At this point we don’t have any additional information to share, but will have new details in the Spring,” a spokesperson said.

While we are still in the midst of winter, believe it or not Spring is now less than one month away (it starts on March 20).

It remains to be seen how exactly the points program will work and when it will launch. But what’s clear is that it will allow for some free trips.

In the meantime, Highway 407 ETR has expanded its driving offers, which cover all tolls, camera charges and account fees.

The company said that it plans to send at least 1.8 million drivers an offer each month.

To be eligible, a customer needs a My Account with no past due balance.

Customers can check their account to see if they’ve received an offer.

“In 2025, 407 ETR delivered significant discounts for customers with over $200 million saved through driving offers. On average, customers save 34 per cent on their monthly bills with driving offers,” a 407 ETR press release said.

The highway has extended driving offers to eligible businesses, with almost 40,000 having received one last month.

“Not only are we increasing the volume of promotions in market, but we’re adding new types of offers to expand our focus beyond rush hour to any time of the day or week,” said John Galibert, the vice president of customer operations at 407 ETR.

“This is improving access to the highway for more drivers, no matter their schedules or commuting patterns.”
