Fans of Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams are already familiar with his ties to Metro Vancouver. The actor was born in Kelowna and moved to Vancouver to pursue his acting career. He also worked at New Westminster’s Old Spaghetti Factory during that time.
Naturally, having spent time in Metro Vancouver, the actor has many recommendations for top-notch eats in the area. In an interview with The Permanent Rain Press from November 2025, Williams shouted out some of his favourite restaurants in and around Vancouver.
Among the shoutouts, he gave some love to Korean BBQ restaurant Kook.
Kook (2800 E 1st Ave #211A, Vancouver) claims that it is the “most exciting Korean BBQ in Vancouver.” On the menu you’ll find options like yangnyeom galbisal (marinated short ribs), wooseol (thinly sliced beef tongue), beef bulgogi (thinly sliced marinated beef), haemul gui (assorted marinated seafood), and more. Plus, it also offers plenty of banchan (side dishes).
Another shoutout Williams gave was the self-serve hot pot restaurant Big Way Hot Pot, an eatery that has soared in popularity in recent years and opened numerous locations throughout Metro Vancouver and beyond.
“I like Big Way Hot Pot, which is very commercial now, but I love some hot pot,” he said.
He also gave a shoutout to Miku (200 Granville St. #70, Vancouver, and 8811 River Rd., Richmond) for its sushi.
However, Williams has a few restaurants that he loved but could not remember the names of during the interview.
“[For] deep dish, it’s somewhere around Main Street that has a Chicago-style deep dish, and it’s so gluttonous and greasy and perfect,” he told the interviewer. “Maybe I’ll follow up so you can plug the names in.”
Thankfully, he did follow up, and in the video, we can see that it’s AJ’s Brooklyn Pizza Shop (which recently opened a new location in Tsawwassen).
Another restaurant, the name of which he forgot in the moment, but had high praise for their Korean fried chicken, was Nadri (111F-4501 North Rd., Burnaby).
