Last weekend was a high-profile one for boxing as one of its biggest stars Ryan Garcia returned to the ring, headlining “The Ring: High Stakes” at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Garcia’s return was a fruitful one as he dropped and outpointed a tough Mario Barrios to claim the WBC welterweight title.

On the undercard, Gary Antuanne Russell retained his WBA junior welterweight strap with a unanimous decision victory over Andy Hiraoka.

Fellow 140-pounders Frank Martin and Nahir Albright fought to a draw while 168-pounder Bektemir Melikuziev impressed as he stopped Sena Agbeko in the seventh round of their non-title bout.
