A Calgary man is facing multiple charges after police discovered a stash of drugs and weapons following a traffic stop.
On the afternoon of Saturday, Jan. 31, officers noticed a car speeding along northbound Macleod Trail near Heritage Drive S.E. When the vehicle was stopped, field tests suggested the driver was under the influence of drugs.
The driver, 46-year-old Kevin Douglas Dalton, was taken into custody. Officers also seized a significant haul:
425 grams of methamphetamine, valued at about $3,035
2.5 grams of fentanyl, valued at about $220
2.3 grams of cocaine, valued at about $250
Brass knuckles
Bear spray
Roughly $3,700 in cash
Dalton now faces 12 charges, including:
Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace (2 counts)
Possession of a concealed weapon (2 counts)
Possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking (3 counts)
Possession of proceeds of crime
Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
Speeding
Operating a motor vehicle without a license
Possession of more than one form of identification
He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026.
