Winnipeg police say a 38-year-old man has been charged for allegedly trafficking drugs in the East Kildonan – Transcona neighbourhood.
WPS says around 3 p.m. on Feb. 24, officers were conducting proactive policing in the East Kildonan – Transcona neighbourhood, when they reportedly noticed a man who was believed to have outstanding warrants.
At the time, the man was exiting a 2009 BMW at a home along McLeod Avenue, and upon seeing the officers, the man reportedly tried to flee before being taken into custody.
WPS says that during the arrest, the rear licence plate of the BMW was determined to have been stolen. This led to officers conducting a search of the vehicle, where they found and seized a sawed-off Maverick 12 shotgun with a spent shell in the chamber and two shells in the magazine tube, around 32 grams of cocaine, and around nine grams of methamphetamine.
Since, police have charged 38-year-old Eric Dale Ross with 18 charges, including possession of a scheduled substance and possession of a firearm.
