Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Mississauga critically injured

A pedestrian is in life-threatening condition after being hit by a vehicle in Mississauga on Thursday night.

Peel Regional Police say a call came in at 7:10 p.m. for a collision in the area of Lakeshore Road East and Stavebank Road, west of Hurontario Street.

According to Peel paramedics, the pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police say.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are not immediately known.
