The Cortland County Mental Health Department says their move to their new location at 111 Port Watson Street in the City of Cortland has been deemed a success. The department has welcomed clients at the new location since Monday.

The new facility, which underwent major renovations, marks an important investment in the future of mental health services, the county says. The new facility features updated, functional space that is designed to better serve residents while supporting professionals who offer the services. The former Clayton Ave facility faced space constraints and broadband connectivity issues.

The move was not just members of the Mental Health Department though. Cortland County says the move was a coordinated, and countywide effort with multiple departments working together for a smooth transition. Some of those departments included Public Works, who oversaw the logistics of the move and assisted in turning the space into the fully operational clinical environment, staff from Records Management, who carefully transported sensitive files and safeguarded critical information, and the Information Technology Department, who ensured all network infrastructure was properly installed and functioning.

“This relocation reflects the dedication and teamwork of our County staff,” said Kevin Fitch, Chair of the Cortland County Legislature. “I would like to personally thank our Public Works team, Records Management staff, Information Technology Department, and the Mental Health Department employees for their outstanding efforts. Because of their work, our residents will continue to receive the critical services they need in a space that better supports care, privacy, and efficiency.”

The Mental Health Department says their phone number remains the same for the new location at (607) 758-6100. Hours of operation are also the same Monday 8-5pm, Tuesday – Thursday 8-7pm, and Fridays from 8 – 4pm.
