A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle in Mississauga on Thursday night.
Peel Regional Police say a call came in at 7:10 p.m. for a collision in the area of Lakeshore Road East and Stavebank Road, west of Hurontario Street.
In an email to CP24 on Friday, police said a blue Chevy Trax was heading west on Lakeshore when the driver hit a pedestrian who was crossing midblock.
“The driver, an adult male, remained on scene and was cooperative with police,” a spokesperson for Peel police said.
The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.
“The investigation is now underway by the Major Collision Bureau,” police said.
