Police say they’ve recovered vehicles worth $180,000 after receiving a tip about stolen rides being shipped overseas from north of Brampton.
The investigation started early this year, with the OPP saying officers in Caledon received information about stolen vehicles being shipped from a commercial property in Caledon to destinations overseas.
A search of the property on Feb. 19 led police to four stolen vehicles worth approximately $180,000.
Police haven’t said whether any charges are pending, but say the investigation is ongoing.
Peel Region has been a hot spot for stolen vehicles from across Ontario being shipped to other countries.
In 2024, 369 stolen vehicles worth approximately $33 million were seized by Peel Regional Police, and over 300 stolen luxury vehicles headed to the United Arab Emirates, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon and several West African countries were also seized in 2025.
