The 2026 Canadian esports championships are done and dusted. The event took place Feb. 21 on Zwift…and in living rooms, basements and spare bedrooms across Canada.
Riders from across the country jumped on their trainers, turned on their fans and gave it a rip. There were races in 12 categories ranging from under-17 to masters.
Racing opened with the masters events. In the master’s races national titles were decided across multiple age groups.
Morgan Pinnock won the masters women 35–44 category, while Marie-Pierre Berard topped the 45–54 field. Diane Bomans earned the 55–64 title. Anna Tykoliz claimed the 65+ crown, continuing her unbeaten streak at these championships.
In the masters men’s races, Warren Muir took the 35–44 title. Frédéric Bergeron won the 45–54 category, Bruce Bird led the way in 55–64, and Brian Zulkoskey secured victory in the 65+ division.
The elite women’s race saw Tiffany Penner win in 1:09:56 after a late move, finishing ahead of Zoë Adam and Jennifer Ward.
In the elite men’s event, Thomas Thrall won the national title in 1:01:29, holding off Merlin Dallaire and Arthur Grivel in the closing (virtual) kilometres. The victory marked Thrall’s fourth straight national championship. For all the results, check out Cycling Canada’s webpage.
