VIDEO REPORT: Dominican, Mount Carmel set to square off in soccer state championship

During the regular season, one of the most anticipated games of the soccer season between Dominican and Mount Carmel, that game had to be decided in penalty kicks. Well, Saturday, it’ll be *** rivalry renewed, but this time with the state championship on the line. Obviously being our biggest rival, that’ll get us up more, but if you’re not already up for it this state being in *** state final. You know, I, I don’t know what more we can do for you. Dominican is aiming for its first state title since 2022 and seeking *** perfect ending to an unbeaten season, one that Al Silvas attributes to *** few things. Leadership, the camaraderie of this group has been unwavering, you know, from all the team bonding they do, for the love of them just being around one another has been amazing this year. The reigning state champion Mount Carmel Cubs, *** team that has confidence because they’ve been there and done that 8 times in fact in school history, including just last season. Yeah, I think for *** lot of our girls they’ve seen the process and it’s *** little bit um. Makes it *** little bit easier to go through that, uh, but that was last year’s team. They wrote their own story, so my message to these girls is this is your time to write your story, and this story will be different this year because the Cubs are taking on *** familiar foe, adding *** layer to an already high stakes game. Intense, loud, we try and take the emotion out of it when we play them. It’s all, it’s your rival, so it’s, uh, it’s emotional. Um, they all know each other. On and off the field, uh, so we try and remove that from the equation if you can. It’s much easier said than done, um, but the team that can stay composed and execute is the one that’s going to be successful. Dominican and Mount Carmel would get underway Saturday at 5 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium. That game was followed by Jesuit and Brother Martin, which begins at 7:30.
