A stranger attack in a busy downtown Vancouver intersection ended with a father being punched in the face after he defended his children. Charges have been laid.
The incident occurred on Sunday, Dec. 21, during the busy holiday season.
According to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), a family was crossing the intersection of Burrard and Georgia with two children in a stroller when they were suddenly assaulted.

“A man not known to the family is alleged to have shoved the stroller as they crossed the intersection,” said the VPD.
“When the father confronted the man, he reportedly threw his drink onto the ground, splashing the children in the stroller, and then punched the father in the face.”
The suspect was arrested by police and taken to jail.
Jaxon Andre Carter, 24, has been identified by the VPD and is charged with one count of assault. He has been released from custody with conditions.
