BURKE, Va. — The George Mason women’s tennis team falls 2-6 against the Howard Bisons in Burke, Va.

The George Mason women’s tennis team battling illness and injuries fell 2-4 to the visiting Howard Bisons in their last scheduled indoor match of the spring season. 

The Patriots continued their stellar doubles play by winning the doubles point. Noelle Talarek and Ravaka Ramanantoanina won at No. 3 doubles followed by the No. 1 team of Cenan Liu and Mary Young.

Howard tied the score at 1-1 when Franchesca Brown (HU) defeated Maitree Rout (GM) and took a 2-1 lead with Camile Hall’s (HU) win over Mary Young (GM).

George Mason’s No. 1 player, Cenan Liu (GM) put the Patriots back even by defeating Amani Jean (HU) in a come from behind three-set win. Howard went ahead 3-2 when Selah Stibbins (HU) outlasted Noelle Talark (GM) at the No. 4 singles position.

The Bison earned the deciding point by a win at No. 5 as Dana Hall (HU) out battled Brooklyn Siegel (GM). The No. 6 match between Lauren Oliver (HU) and newcomer Ravaka Ramanantoanina did not finish their match.
