BRAMPTON, ON. – On Saturday afternoon, the London Knights reigned over the Brampton Steelheads with a 5-0 win at the CAA Centre.
The Knights opened the scoring late in the first period, as Braiden Clark potted in the rebound off a Braidy Wassilyn shot past Steelheads goalie Peter Chlebowski, who returned to the ice for the first time since September.
The Knights continued their offensive pressure in the second period. Knights defenceman Andoni Fimis doubled the lead for the visitors as he wristed a shot through several bodies, tucking it inside the post. Things got worse for the Steelheads later in the period, as on a 5-3 power play, Jesse Nurmi took the sharp angled shot to extend the Knights’ lead, while five minutes later, Kaeden Hawkins tucked in a rebound to pile on the offensive momentum.
William Nicholl scored the final goal of the third period off a loose puck in the slot to cap off the Knights’ dominant victory. Ryan Brown also finished the afternoon with three assists, while Sebastian Gatto stopped 11 shots for his third shutout of the season.
