Myatt Snyder took over for Alex Bowman’s No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.

AUSTIN, Texas — Myatt Snyder turned his first laps in the NASCAR Cup Series in replacement for Alex Bowman, who exited the Circuit of the Americas race due to illness.

Bowman was running near the back of the field in Sunday’s race when he entered the garage on lap 73 of the 95-lap race.

Bowman started 16th in the race. He finished 7th in the first stage and 34th in the second stage.

Snyder raced part-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2025. He last raced full-time in 2022 with Jordan Anderson Racing in the same series, scoring a 6th-place finish at COTA.

The move was done to gain Bowman some extra points if any other drivers fall out of the event. Bowman is 32nd in the NASCAR Cup Series standings after two races due to crashes at Daytona and Atlanta.
