The books are on the shelf and everything inside looks brand new; South Fletcher’s Branch Library is open again.

After several months of renovations that saw the branch close down and move temporarily to Shoppers World Brampton, the South Fletcher’s Branch, located in the Susan Fennell Sportsplex has a refreshed look that includes separate spaces for programming, quiet study, and collaboration; increased natural light by adding windows and is meant to offer a better customer experience, with updated furniture and decor.

As well, the branch will have a large collection of books and other library materials, Wi-Fi, computer stations, and a selection of programming for all ages.

The space will also feature areas designed for young and older children, study rooms, bookable meeting rooms, and a wide variety of seating to enjoy.

Renovations were carried out because the City of Brampton determined the branch has become outdated.

South Fletcher’s originally opened in 1996, and since then, the needs of the community have changed because of technology and the space required by users. As well, the upgrades fit the upgrades made throughout the Sportsplex.

Operating hours at the library will be Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday to  Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
