At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Motorola has introduced the razr fold, the latest addition to its line of foldable phones and the brand’s first book-style foldable model.
The Motorola razr fold has a 6.6-inch external display that opens to reveal an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO canvas when unfolded. It’s slim and lightweight at just 4.6mm thin when open and 9.9mm thin when closed. Equipped with a stainless-steel teardrop hinge with a titanium inner screen plate beneath the display to help distribute pressure evenly, it’s durable as well. There’s also ultra-thin glass and an anti-shock film, along with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the outside screen. In Motorola internal testing, razr fold achieved over 75% better drop performance compared to previous-generation devices.
Along with a bright interior display, you can enjoy audio with Dolby Atmos and Sound by Bose technology through the stereo speakers. Fold it into laptop mode for comfortable typing and multitasking or tent mode to watch content. Its adaptive design doubles as a steady tripod for hands-free capture, and the fold-forward form makes multi-display productivity smoother and more flexible.
The camera system includes a 50MP next-generation 5 Sony LYTIA 828 sensor, Motorola’s largest 50MP sensor yet for recording cinematic Dolby Vision videos. It works seamlessly with advanced AI-powered imaging to deliver photos with clarity, rich colour, and real-time adaptability. Record and edit stunning 8K videos. Capture Pantone Validated colour and skin tones that authentically simulate the full range of real-world Pantone colours. Complementing this main lens is a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with Motorola’s advanced 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, which features a periscope telephoto lens. Zoom in 3x while OIS keeps every shot steady. For distant scenes, go further with up to 100x Super Zoom Pro powered by moto ai, which intelligently sharpens faraway subjects for cleaner detail. Additionally, there’s a 50MP ultrawide lens with a 122° field of view and built-in macro vision to get as close as 3.5cm, a 32MP internal selfie camera, and a 20MP external selfie camera. With moto ai, images are intelligently optimized so skin tone, expression, and vibe look exactly how you intended.
Intelligent performance is at the heart of razr fold through moto ai, with features like Catch me up to provide a tailored summary of the top notifications and Pay Attention to transcribe important conversations in real time. You can also access Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and Perplexity AI.
Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 mobile platform and 16GB RAM with RAM Boost, the phone comes with up to 1TB storage. It uses an advanced liquid-cooling system to deliver smoother, more consistent performance during gaming, streaming, and multitasking. By managing heat more efficiently, it helps the phone stay comfortable in hand and maintains speed without sudden slowdowns. The new motorola razr fold will be available in North America in the coming months. It will come in Pantone Blackened Blue, featuring a woven diamond piqué-inspired finish engineered for durability, and Pantone Lily White, wrapped in a silk-inspired finish with a soft sheen. It has gently rounded edges and comes with a stylus. Pricing and specific availability details will be available closer to launch.
